Grandpa and Dad

Where you hunt now Glows a
perpetual autumn. Gun in hand,
Golden poised ready to retrieve
You wander a corn-stubble
heaven. II. The byways of sapphire
Lead you to the luminous tavern.
The barman serves inside the
swing-doors A single malt of
delectable light. III. The pheasants
in your game-bag Give out a great
cry of joy To be feast-food for
seraphim On crystalline platters
passed down From St. Peter's
place at table. IV. You, dear one,
Seat yourself at the lowest chair,
Your hunting dog lying on a
parquet-floor Of cloud. ( not of my
hand , but truly of my heart )

Hi it's me ,
just thought i would drop in after 30 something years . Could'nt do it with a phone . Can't do it with a letter . I have'nt seen you , I did'nt share your laughter or tears . Yet I will tell you all that is me . We are not strangers . Just removed by time . With out this medium would I know you ? Or would you remain a memory , with a constant fading that progress 's yearly . I am happy to be reunited with you my friend . But damn where you been . ? I like this it makes my wandering soul feel at home . I 'm glad I found you . A long way we have roamed .

A visit .......

With this being the first day of spring . I feel our visit is long over due . I do however like this season , and the new things it brings . I am sorry to have been absent but the others did call . The energy that flowed this winter , I’m sure has left you inspired . I think spring is a good season for us . Your creativity has always been a marvel to me . I have many days to be with you , and contemplate my feelings . On this side it is as you dreamed it to be . On this side I am forever drawn backwards in time . I still see all of you , and practice the images daily . I often hear your words upon me , how comforting it is to be a son . We are coming soon together , with our love for you and each other . We do this best when it is just us . The others don’t remember . So prepare your canvas , make it subtle and vivid . I am prepared for all you have . I come with a heart that’s ready for growth ,with a pole and a jug of wine . I am coming soon , always your loving son …

We are honored to have such great Americans ....

In honor of our brave American solidersOur young men and women of the Armed Forces . Special shout to the " Cowboy's ". The 1st Armored Division , 2-6 inf. Hey fellas . Don't forget Charlie don't surf , Charlie don't cowboy up . Fuck Charlie........ The average age of the military man is 19 years. He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who, under normal circumstances is considered by society as half man, half boy Not yet dry behind the ears, not old enough to buy a beer, but old enough to die for his country. He never really cared much for work and he would rather wax his own car than wash his father's; but he has never collected unemployment either. He's a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average student, pursued some form of sport activities, drives a ten year old jalopy, and has a steady girlfriend that either broke up with him when he left, or swears to be waiting when he returns from half a world away He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and 155mm howitzer. He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he was at home because he is working or fighting from before dawn to well after dusk. He has trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds and reassemble it in less time in the dark. He can recite to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and use either one effectively if he must. He digs foxholes and latrines and can apply first aid like a professional. He can march until he is told to stop or stop until he is told to march. He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is not without spirit or individual dignity. He is self-sufficient He has two sets of fatigues: he washes one and wears the other. He keeps his canteens full and his feet dry. he sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never to clean his rifle. He can cook his own meals, mend his own clothes, and fix his own hurts. If you're thirsty, he'll share his water with you; if you are hungry, his food. He'll even split his ammunition with you in the midst of battle when you run low. He has learned to use his hands like weapons and weapons like they were his hands. He can save your life - or take it, because that is his job. He will often do twice the work of a civilian , draw half the pay and still find ironic humor in it all. He has seen more suffering and death then he should have in his short lifetime. He has stood atop mountains of dead bodies, and helped to create them. He has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in combat and is unashamed. He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to 'square-away' those around him who haven't bothered to stand, remove their hat, or even stop talking. In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful. Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom. Beardless or not, he is not a boy. He is the American Fighting Man that has kept this country free for over 200 years. He has asked nothing in return, except our friendship and understanding. Remember him, always, for he has earned our respect and admiration with his blood. And now we even have women over there in danger, doing their part in this tradition of going to War when our nation calls us to do so. As you go to bed tonight, remember this shot.. A short lull, a little shade and a picture of loved ones in their helmets Prayer wheel for our military... please don't break it. Please send this .. a short prayer. Prayer Wheel "Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. In Our Saviors Name, Amen." Prayer : When you receive this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our ground troops in Afghanistan, sailors on ships, and airmen in the air, and for those in Iraq . There is nothing attached... This can be very powerful....... Of all the gifts you could give a US Soldier, Sailor, Marine or Airman, prayer is the very best one. I can't break this one, sorry This is a ribbon for soldiers fighting in Iraq. Pass it on to everyone and pray. No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced

Pork Freedom

Pork Plant Opens Next to Mosque Next to Ground Zero Bumble Bee Ham is opening a processing plant and deli in New York just two blocks away from Ground Zero next to a new mosque. The new location will process ham to be shipped out to Bumble Bee Hams across the country and launch a new high end deli on the ground level called "Bacon." The feature item is a bacon burger made from ground bacon, topped with bacon served open faced on a bacon croissant with bacon ranch and a side of bacon sticks. This has set off a firestorm between many Americans and Muslims against so-called "bacon extremists." Critics claim that Bumble Bee Ham is being insensitive to Muslim feelings and seeking to inflame Muslim sensibilities. Supporters swear they only wish to promote a new peaceful dialogue in Muslim/Pork relations. Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf, the founder of the mosque was reported in the New Pork Times saying, "Most New Yorkers find the placement of Bumble Bee Ham offensive. New York is a big city. Why can't they just build somewhere else? If they really care about healing delicate wounds between Muslims and Pork they wouldn't build in a location where most New Yorkers disapprove." A spokesman for Bumble Bee Ham responded in the New York Pork declaring, "We have no desire to inflame or insult New Yorkers by inflaming and insulting them. America stands for freedom and we fully believe in that right. Freedom doesn't include a right to decency or good taste. We here at Rancor News fully believe in everyone's right to freedom, however, we do not approve of people using their freedom to be dicks. You don't build new peaceful relations by kicking someone in the crotch. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. We will stand by Bumble Bee Ham's freedom to operate where they choose and our freedom to call them insensitive, inflammatory, attention whoring, opportunistic pricks

Remembering our finest .......

We cherish too, the Poppy red

That grows on fields where valor led,

It seems to signal to the skies

That blood of heroes never dies.
